Word

So Aiden got some fake tattoos from some fast food joint...he's very proud of them.
He was quite sad when they washed completely off.  He has since informed me that he really wants permanent tattoos...I guess as long as they aren't Pokemon characters we'll be okay?  Right?
Aiden is one of the funniest sleepers ever!  He LOVES books...but at night he loves "word books" ... ones with NO pictures.  There's a picture I'll have to find and post that's hilarious of him wearing Grandma Terry's reading glasses and a mystery novel, propped up in bed with a lamp on.  It's pretty good.
Here he is asleep with the Bible...at least it's the good word right?!  This boy is just so funny!
Speaking of funny...this little Ash man is LAUGHING!!  It is the funniest thing ever!  He started laughing last Sunday while I was sitting in a church service.  Aiden was down in the children's center so it was just me and Ash.  He couldn't stop giggling, which in turn made me laugh (under my breath of course) and the people sitting around me smile too.  He brought loads of sunshine that day!  Since then, he is constantly laughing!  He even laughs while he's crying...I didn't know that was even possible!  What fun boys I have!

Oldies but Goodies

So, we have 2 laptops.  One works really well and has none of our personal stuff (pictures, music, etc) the other one dies quite frequently and has all of our personal stuff on it...see something wrong with this picture?!  Anyway, I haven't been able to get on the "crappy" laptop for a few months.  I finally got on it the other day and have had some good luck so far.  I was looking through Aiden's baby pictures and had to share!  These are in no particular order, I just love them!  These are all during his first 8 months of life and I LOVE them!
 Yup..just chillin'

Is that not the most DARLING little boy ever?!

Here he is at 7 1/2 months...no he isn't sitting by himself...he is propped on my mom's big chair with a black blanket thrown over it.

He was the HAPPIEST baby ever!  Seriously!

Such an observant little guy too.  He always wanted to look at people, see what was going on, be involved...all that!  Nothing's changed!

He's about a week old here...those pacifiers KILL me!  It's basically the size of his head :)
2 minutes old...he is so perfect!

I think he pretty much looks the same!

 You talkin' to me?

That smile looks about the same as it does now...
My precious gift!  He is one of the biggest blessings in my life.  I love him more then words can express.  Being a mommy is the hardest job I've ever had to do...and I wouldn't trade it for anything!  The hard times, embarrassing times, stressful times...they are still such a great experience because he helps me be a better person!  I thank God every single day for this little boy and am so thankful that I have the opportunity to raise this precious little man and look forward to the many fun experiences and years ahead!

Why I love cloth diapers...and an Aiden funny

******WARNING******
This post contains a picture of baby bodily - functions - and if you have a super weak stomach and cannot handle stuff like that...you have been warned...if you puke...sorry :)
(if you're a mommy...it's not that bad haha)

So..I've had a couple people ask me from time to time if I like my cloth diapers!  I've noticed that I haven't posted a SINGLE THING about them other then when I got them in the mail before I had Mr. Ash.  I LOVE MY CLOTH DIAPERS!!!  There's SO many reasons I like the cloth diapers.  Some of them are:
  • No rashes!  It's amazing!  He's had ONE rash since I've used cloth diapers and it was when he was teething.  Aiden ALWAYS had the most awful rashes!  They would get so bad they would bleed and there was NOTHING I could do to help.  I would change his disposable diapers every 2-3 hours and he'd STILL GET RASHES!  Ash gets rashes when we use disposable diapers.  My poor babies have super sensitive skin :(
  • I don't have to worry about running out of diapers!  This is SO nice!  I have enough cloth diapers that I only need to wash them about once a week (twice if it's a rough week...but we can still make it about 5 days).  I do at least one load of laundry a day anyway, so this doesn't throw a wrench into things.
  • MONEY!  I've heard people go back and forth over this.  We spent about $450 for all the diapers and the "free" (dye free, etc) detergent.  We in no way HAD to spend this much to start cloth diapering.  This was enough for an entire weeks worth of cloth and over 6 months of detergent.  YES you can easily spend way more if you aren't careful.  It has ended up more then paying for itself already.  With how often I was having to change disposables to avoid rashes (oh and no cheap diapers for ash...they make it worse)...I would've already spent a few hundred.
  • The last I'll mention is where the picture comes in...NO BLOW OUTS!!!!!  I have NEVER had a blow out with our cloth diapers (seriously).  We put Ash in disposables for our California trip...and...no joke...we had TWO in less then 36 hours.  They weren't little blow outs either...
Imagine what his clothes and body looked like!!  It was awful!  I felt so stupid too because I haven't had to deal with a blow out with Ash (Aiden had them on a daily basis...no exaggerating) so I just held him a couple feet away from me looking like a deer in headlights!  Luckily Ry was there with the same look on his face, so I didn't fee quite as bad!

There are tons of other positives of cloth diapering (no chemicals, better for the environment, etc) but I'll stop now before I bore you all to death!

Finally, I'd like to leave you with a little statement my sweet 4 year old said to me.  We were watching The Biggest Loser and he turns to me and says:
"Mom, do you want to be on The Biggest Loser?  You should because they make you exercise so you don't get a fat old tummy!"

Point taken son.  I guess I need to start letting him watch me exercise now huh? :)

Halloween Fun with the Cousins!

We were able to spend some time with Ry's family the Sunday before Halloween.  Savannah, Jackson and Aiden got to decorate these super fun Halloween cookies (thank you bakery for all the premade stuff!  Me and baking and whatnot did NOT happen for Halloween this year...slacker...yes).

The kids really seemed to like decorating these!  I'd say they sat there decorating for almost an hour!
 Yum!
SO focused!  She was so funny! She outlined her cookie!  I think there's a little artist on our hands!

 Jackson's cookies
 Savannah's third-ish done cookies

 Aiden's cookies

I LOVE this picture of these cute kids!
 Miss Capri!
Carving pumpkins!  Yes, Ry and I did not carve a pumpkin this year (there's been too much going on to even think about carving a pumpkin) so, we waited until the night before to carve at least ONE.

Aiden and Savannah hated the pumpkin "guts"
Don't worry...Asher's here!  He was hanging out with Daddy (aka Hulk Hogan) and Grandma!
Happy Halloween! (see the resemblance?  Yep...I'm an artist too haha)
